Power Cycling Program  
     
  The Peak Power Cycling Program is a comprehensive plan that integrates a combination of evaluating your fitness and physical condition, then implementing a personal training plan with periodic reviews of your improvements gained over time. The process utilizes modern training techniques such as custom tailored programs on the CompuTrainer and Spinscan etc., which can be done at home or in a group environment.  If followed diligently, the individualized training program, which is built on your specific training zones, will help you to gain power significantly.

By using the PEAK Training System, you ensure that you are stressing the body to adapt specifically the way you want it to. Though consistent and persistent training, you will notice that certain physiological parameters will begin to improve, meaning that your aerobic capacity is improving. Subsequent assessments conducted at the 3rd, 6th, and 9th month into training will ensure that power (training) improvements are objectively measured, zones are adjusted, and training progression is periodized.

Individualized Training Zones
With an accurate determination of your personal training zones, the PEAK Training System is designed to help the athlete develop their power and strength through a scientific process unique to the specific needs of the individual. Each training zone is targeting to improve a specific aspect of your performance.

Zones 1, 3 & 5 provide specific training parameters to develop and contribute to your improvement through precise and measured workouts.

Zones 2 and 4 are used for the development of specific skills that match specific requirements of road races, triathlon, mountain biking or trail.

To adequately determine the training zones, an analysis of the levels of lactate in the blood at different exercise intensities is required. Once these zones are established, they can be applied in the training workouts to help you reach your maximum potential.

The importance of position and pedal stroke
Our experts can help you refine your position on the bike and improve you pedal stroke in order to achieve optimum riding efficiency based on your capabilities. Pierre Hutsebaut has experience at the National level to help you maximize the benefits of the Peak Cycling Program.

  Le programme d'entraînement personnalisé mis sur pied par Pierre Hutsebaut de Peak Performance m'a permis de réaliser un de mes objectifs et rêve de cycliste qui était de compléter avec succès l'Étape du Tour 2009, Montélimar - Mont Ventoux, une étape de 170km avec l'ascension de 5 cols.

En plus du programme d'entraînement; le professionnalisme, les connaissances techniques du cyclisme et le support de Pierre ont joué un rôle de premier plan dans cette réussite. Je l'en remercie grandement''

  Michel Tardif was carefully trained this season by Pierre Hutsebaut, in a long distance cycling challenge to reach a specific goal.  He successfully completed 200km, 400km, and 600km bike tours as a lead up to his crowning achievement - a 1200km randonneur performance!  Michel reached his ultimate goal and cycled around Georgian Bay in a time of 76h 20mn.

Hier, le 19 avril, je suis allé tester mes nouvelles jambes (et mon nouveau cardio) dans les cantons de l'est (Bromont-Sutton-Knwolton-Waterloo-Bromont-95km).
 
Je peux dire que jamais dans ma vie je n'ai été capable d'avaler autant de côtes avec autant de facilité. La moitié des bonnes pentes ont été prises debout sur le gros braquet. Parmi celles que j'ai prise assis, une ou deux m'ont obligé à réduire le tempo avant d'arriver en haut... c'est tout.
3h40 avec un « normalized power » de 222 watts.

Lorsque je me suis présenté au Peak Centre à l’automne dernier (avec une PAM de 230 watts), l’un des buts de mon entrainement était de me permettre de faire de la montagne plus facilement (disons qu'avant j'y arrivais mais ce n'étais pas beau à voir)...5 mois plus tard je peux dire  "mission accomplie".
