January 26, 2010 - North Carolina
On January 26th, Pierre Hutsebaut accompanied Kelly Benefits cyclist David Veilleux to the wind tunnel in Charlotte, North Carolina for some extensive wind tunnel testing.
Finding the perfect position for time trial racing is very critical especially when reaching speeds of 50km/h. At that speed, this type of measured analysis is very benificial for aerodynamics and energy usage. Interestingly enough, after two hours of testing and various position and equipment changes, the conclusion was that David's position, as adjusted by Pierre in 2008, was perfect aerodynamically. The final analysis determined that there was no advantage to changing it. David's set for the upcoming season, still pedaling hard and fast! |

Sept 12/09 - Montreal Quebec
Pierre Hutsebaut and Matt Sauvé of Peak Centre Montreal were called upon by Jacques Martin - head coach of the Montreal Canadien's - to perform VO2Max tests on the teams players. VO2Max testing - also known as maximal oxygen uptake, helps determine an athlete's capacity to perform sustained exercise and is linked to aerobic endurance. It's the maximum amount of oxygen that an individual can utilize during intense exercise. With VO2Max test results in hand, the coaching staff of the Canadien's will now have excellent baseline data to work from when creating individual training regimens for each player. |
